Chicken in Chilli Black Bean Sauce

Chicken in Chilli Black Bean sauce, a Chinese takeaway classic made easy using our sauce. For an extra boost of flavour, follow our Chicken Marinade.



  • Sliced Chicken Breast or Thigh meat 250-300g
  • Potato Starch or Cornflour 2 tsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Bicarb of Soda 1 tsp
  • Water 4 tblsp
  • Mayflower Chilli Black Bean Sauce 300g
  • Sliced Onion 100g
  • Sliced Green Peppers 100g
  • Sliced Red Peppers 100g


1. Mix all the ingredients listed '(for marinade)' with the sliced beef in a bowl and marinade the Beef for 2 hours at room temperature.

2. Stir fry the marinated chicken until cooked and set aside. In the same wok, stir fry the sliced green & red peppers and sliced onion until browned. 

3. Reintroduce the cooked chicken to the wok and add the Mayflower Chilli Black Bean Sauce, continue to cook for 2 minutes.

4. Plate up and serve with boiled rice or noodles, garnish with chopped spring onions and/or corriander.
